 14 Grams of Heroin Recovered; One Person Arrested by Poonch Police

Poonch, October 17, 2025:

Continuing its drive against the menace of narcotics, Poonch Police achieved another success today with the recovery of 14 grams of heroin-like substance and the arrest of one accused person.

A police party from Police Station Poonch, under had established a naka at Kalai. During checking, one suspicious person identified as Vejinder Singh s/o Satinder Singh r/o Jernally Mohalla, Poonch was intercepted. Upon his search, 14 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 192/2025 under sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Poonch, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and other possible links involved in the case.

District Police Poonch reiterates its firm commitment to eliminate the drug menace from society and appeals to the general public to come forward with any information related to drug trafficking or peddling activities in their area.
