Ministry of Railways Organises First-Ever Akhil Rail Hindi Quiz Competition–2025 at Secunderabad

February 6, 2026The Ministry of Railways today conducted the first-ever Akhil Rail Hindi Quiz Competition–2025 at the Indian Railway Institute of Financial Management (IRIFM), Secunderabad, marking a significant step towards promoting Rajbhasha Hindi across Indian Railways.
Organised under the aegis of the Railway Board, the competition witnessed the participation of 28 teams representing various Railway Zones and Production Units, with over 120 officers and employees competing.
Ms. V.G. Bhooma, Additional Member (HR), Railway Board, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Dr. V. Suguna, Director (Official Language) attended as Guest of Honour.The programme was presided over by Ms. Aparna Garg, Director General, IRIFM, and Shri Sirra Santhi Raju, Additional Director General, IRIFM.
Senior Railway officials including Shri Siddarth Kati, Principal Chief Personnel Officer, South Central Railway, Shri G.R.S. Rao, Chief Personnel Officer (Admin), SCR, and other dignitaries were present.The competition aimed to generate awareness and interest in Hindi as the Official Language, especially among Railway personnel. Notably, Secunderabad—located in a non-Hindi speaking ‘C’ region—was deliberately chosen to strengthen the usage and promotion of Hindi in such regions.
Addressing the gathering, Ms. V.G. Bhooma described the quiz as a unique and effective initiative to promote Hindi in an engaging manner and extended her best wishes for the successful implementation of Rajbhasha in Railways.The event concluded with six finalist teams showcasing their linguistic and intellectual skills.🏆 Winners:

Second Prize: North Western Railway
Third Prize: East Coast Railway
Consolation Prizes: Banaras Locomotive Works & West Central Railway
Expressing her satisfaction, Ms. Aparna Garg said IRIFM was proud to host the competition for the first time and noted that the participation of nearly 30 teams reflected the growing enthusiasm towards Rajbhasha Hindi within Indian Railways.
The event stood as a celebration of Hindi excellence and unity across Indian Railways.
