26th All India Police Band Competition Begins at Moula-Ali
Shri B. Shivadhar Reddy, IPS, Director General of Police, Telangana, today declared open the 26th All India Police Band Competition at the RPF Training Centre, Moula-Ali, hosted by the Railway Protection Force (RPF), South Central Railway, from 16th to 20th December, 2025.The opening ceremony was held in the presence of Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, SCR; Shri Satya Prakash, Additional General Manager, SCR; and Ms. Aroma Singh Thakur, IG-cum-Principal Chief Security Commissioner, SCR, along with senior officials. The DGP unfurled the flag of the All India Police Sports Control Board and was presented a memento by the PCSC, SCR.
Addressing the gathering, Shri B. Shivadhar Reddy welcomed police bands from across the country and said the competition showcases not only musical excellence but also the unity, discipline, and service ethos of Indian Police Forces. He appreciated RPF/SCR for organizing the event and highlighted RPF’s critical role in safeguarding passengers and railway assets across one of the world’s largest rail networks.
He added that teamwork, discipline, and dedication—core qualities of the police—are reflected in every police band performance. The event, he said, would strengthen cooperation, communication, and trust among forces.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Aroma Singh Thakur, IG-cum-PCSC/SCR, welcomed all contingents and urged participants to perform with true sportsmanship—to win hearts, uplift the nation’s spirit, and celebrate India’s unity in diversity.
Around 1,300 band participants from 24 States/Union Territories/Central Armed Police Forces/Central Police Organisations are taking part. Competitions will be held in Brass Band, Pipe Band, and Bugle Display categories, featuring traditional and contemporary compositions reflecting India’s rich cultural diversity and patriotic fervour.
