MULTI-AGENCY JOINT MEGA MOCK DRILL ON INDUSTRIAL DISASTER (CHLORINE GAS LEAK) CONDUCTED AT CISF UNIT RSTPS RAMAGUNDAM

A Multi-Agency Joint Mega Mock Drill on the scenario of an industrial disaster involving chlorine gas leakage was conducted at CISF Unit RSTPS, Ramagundam on 05 December 2025, between 1320 hrs and 1420 hrs. The exercise aimed to assess preparedness levels, response capability, and inter-agency coordination during chemical emergencies.

The drill was supervised by Shri Arvind Kumar, Senior Commandant, CISF Unit RSTPS Ramagundam. CISF officers Shri S.A. Raju, Deputy Commandant, Shri O.V.K. Shastry, Deputy Commandant, and Shri Jai Kanwar, Assistant Commandant also took part in the operation.

The NDRF team, led by Inspector Mukesh Kumar, and teams from multiple state agencies—including State Police (led by Inspector Praveen Kumar), State Reserve Police (led by Inspector K. Shekhar), State Fire Service (led by SFO P. Laxminarayana), State BDDS Team (led by HC Ramaiah), along with hospital medical staff—actively participated.

Drill Scenario & Response


A simulated chlorine gas leak was initiated, following which a message was relayed from the Main Control Room to the Fire Control Room.

As the first responder, CISF moved swiftly to the site, secured the affected zone, and executed its responsibilities with precision. The State Fire Service extended timely support in containing the situation.

Subsequently, the NDRF team arrived and implemented evacuation procedures and gas-neutralisation measures with utmost care. The BDDS team, assisted by a K9 unit, conducted a thorough search of the cordoned-off area to rule out the presence of any IEDs or explosives.

Coordination & Outcome


All participating teams showcased exemplary coordination, rapid response, and professional conduct, ensuring the smooth execution of the mock drill. Their performance highlighted the collective operational readiness to tackle an industrial chemical disaster.


The exercise concluded with a debriefing session led by Shri Arvind Kumar, Senior Commandant, who appreciated the dedication and teamwork of all agencies. He emphasized the importance of continuous preparedness to safeguard industrial establishments.


The mock drill stands as a significant step towards strengthening emergency response mechanisms and enhancing the safety and security framework of the region.
