SCR General Manager Holds Safety Review Meeting.

South Central Railway General Manager Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastava conducted a comprehensive review meeting on train operations safety and winter preparedness on Monday. The meeting was held at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad, in the presence of Shri Satya Prakash, Additional General Manager, along with Principal Heads of Departments. DRMs of all six divisions — Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded — joined through video conference.
The General Manager highlighted the need to strictly follow time-tested principles and best practices to ensure smooth and safe train operations. He emphasized root-cause analysis for all activities, directing the Crew Management System, Gatemen and Shunting staff to take focused, accurate action in all safety-related tasks.
He also stressed that not just major issues, but even minor lapses can affect safety and operational efficiency. Officials were instructed to constantly monitor crucial operational resources and ensure the reliability of safety equipment. The GM placed special emphasis on the effective use of GPS trackers in field operations to enhance safety standards.
Earlier in the day, the General Manager presented the “Employee of the Month – Safety Awards” to 16 employees from various divisions — Secunderabad (02), Hyderabad (01), Vijayawada (02), Guntur (04), Guntakal (06) and Nanded (01). The awardees represent important safety categories including Goods/Train Managers, Loco Pilots, Pointsman, Track Maintainers and others.
Congratulating them, the GM appreciated their commitment to duty and stated that these recognitions will inspire other employees to stay vigilant and contribute sincerely to ensuring safe train operations.
