On Wednesday,Dr. R. Kiran Raj Kumar, Chief Medical Officer of Singareni Collieries, Kothagudem, made a surprise inspection at the Singareni Area Hospital, Ramagundam. During his visit, he inspected various departments including the CT Scan, X-Ray, Blood Bank, Laboratory, K-T Lab, and several wards.

The inspection followed an incident on the day of Deepavali, where a pregnant woman named Priyanka lost her unborn baby in the womb. In this regard, Dr. Kiran Raj Kumar questioned the doctors and staff nurses about the matter. Later, he conducted a meeting with the doctors, staff nurses, and paramedical staff.

He also examined the records at the hospital canteen kitchen and instructed the canteen in-charges to ensure that healthy and hygienic food is provided to patients. During the meeting, the doctors discussed the challenges faced due to the high number of outpatients — around 1,500 daily — and possible solutions were suggested.

Dr. Kiran Raj Kumar assured that additional doctors would be appointed to the hospital soon to avoid any inconvenience. The meeting was conducted under the supervision of Hospital Superintendent Dr. B. Ambika, ACMO.

Among those who participated were Dr. Prasanna Kumar (DVC), Dr. Vishnu Murthy (Pathologist), Dr. Maddileti, Dr. Ramesh, Dr. Vikram, Dr. B. Srinivas, Dr. Indira, Dr. Sravanthi, Dr. Sabitha, Matron Nirmala Kumari, Senior Personnel Officer Jidula Srinivas, and other doctors.

Later, the staff nurses explained their difficulties and the existing problems in the hospital to Officer Dr. Raj Kumar.
