Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy Inspects Redevelopment Works at Hi-Tech City Railway Station..
Union Minister for Coal and Mines, G.Kishan Reddy, inspected the ongoing redevelopment works at Hi-Tech City Railway Station on 28 November 2025. He was accompanied by Chevella MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, SCR General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, Secunderabad DRM Dr. R. Gopalakrishnan,CAO/RSP Sandeep Jain,CPRO A. Sridhar, and other senior officials.The Minister reviewed the progress at key construction points including the new station building,12-meter Foot Over Bridge, platform areas,and circulating space. He also examined safety measures being followed at the work site.Speaking to the media, G. Kishan Reddy said that railway infrastructure in Telangana is witnessing rapid development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He noted that 40 stations in the state are being redeveloped with modern amenities, while the Charlapalli Terminal has recently been inaugurated to ease passenger movement.He highlighted major projects underway:-
Secunderabad station redevelopment at a cost of ₹720 crore.
Hyderabad station modernization with ₹350 crore.
Kacheguda station redevelopment proposal in the approval stage.
Stations in Hyderabad’s urban belt Hafeezpet, Hi-Tech City, and Malakpet are also being upgraded and are expected to be completed next year.
The Minister stated that Hi-Tech City station is being redeveloped at a cost of ₹25.93 crore under Phase-I with state-of-the-art architecture and enhanced passenger facilities. Phase-II will include renovation of the old station building and other works with an additional ₹10 crore.He informed that the station handles 62 suburban trains daily connecting Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Umdanagar, Falaknuma, Medchal, and Ghatkesar, with a current footfall of 5,400 passengers per day, expected to rise after redevelopment. New facilities include a 12-meter FoB, two lifts, two escalators, waiting room, additional ticket counters, extended platform cover, and full Divyangjan-friendly infrastructure.He added that 16 Mail/Express trains bound for Bidar, Visakhapatnam, Mumbai, Kakinada, Shirdi, Narsapur and other destinations were given temporary stoppages at Hi-Tech City during Dussehra and Diwali, greatly benefiting passengers in Western Hyderabad.
Chevella MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy expressed happiness that four stations in his constituency Hi-Tech City, Tandur, Vikarabad, and Hafeezpet are being modernized as Amrit Stations. He appreciated the proactive efforts of the Railways in improving passenger facilities and providing festival-season stoppages.
Earlier, SCR General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava delivered the welcome address. CAO/RSP Sandeep Jain briefed the media on key highlights of the redevelopment project.
