150 Years of the National Song ‘Vande Mataram’
Vande Mataram rendered at Ramagundam Police Commissionerate
Marking 150 years of the magnificent Vande Mataram, written by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee — a piece that inspired India’s freedom struggle and continues to uphold national pride and unity — the Ramagundam Police Commissionerate, following state government orders, organised a grand collective singing of Vande Mataram today. Commissioner Amber Kishore Jha attended the programme and joined officers and staff in the mass rendition.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner said:“At a time when India was undergoing major social, cultural, and political transformations — when national identity and resistance to colonial rule were growing — Vande Mataram transformed the image of the motherland into a symbol of strength, prosperity, and divinity. It nurtured national unity and self-respect. Very soon, it became a timeless emblem of patriotism. This national song, which strengthens our pride, dignity, and collective identity, deserves respect from every citizen. I urge people from across the nation to participate in such programmes as a mark of patriotism and gratitude.”
The programme was attended by Addl. DCP (Admin) Srinivas, AR ACP Pratap, Reserve Inspectors Vamanamurthy and Mallesh, Superintendents Indrasena Reddy, Sandeep, Sandhya, inspectors from various wings, SIs, RIs Srinivas, Vamanamurthy, Mallesh, CCI Harish, CPO staff, and other police personnel.
