Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad
Telangana’s most prestigious programme “Vana Mahotsavam” started today at Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad . Dr. Sunil S. Hiremath, IFS, Director, Zoo Parks, Telangana and Smt. J.Vasantha, IFS, Curator, Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad along with the Zoo staff members planted tree saplings of Ficus ,Indian blackberry (Jamun),Sacred Fig and other fruit bearing and shaded tree saplings in the fodder area of Zoo Park. All the Zoo staff members participated in the tree plantation programme and planted about 250 tree saplings in the Zoo premises.
Speaking on the occasion, The Director Zoo Parks, Telangana said that Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad is also known as the green lungs of Hyderabad, most of the visitors marked that this Zoo is one of the greenest Zoo in their feedback.
Speaking on the occasion Smt. J.Vasantha, IFS, Curator, Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad said that Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad is always in the forefront in educating the visitors in respective of Wildlife and Environment. Conducting awareness programme on every ecological day is marked with the importance. The Curator urged every staff member to plant more than two trees in their residential premises and nurture them like their own children, She thanked all the staff members for actively participating and planting tree saplings.
